The fire department uses its Facebook page to appeal for donations of disinfectant spray and wipes.

It’s time to “Spring Forward” – which means it’s also time to change the batteries in your smoke detectors.

To help keep the community safe, the Sea Isle City Volunteer Fire Department is partnering with Gardner Hardware, of Ocean View, to distribute vouchers for two free 9-volt smoke detector batteries to Sea Isle residents and taxpayers.

Vouchers will be given out Saturday, March 9, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Sea Isle Fire Department Headquarters, 233 JFK Boulevard. Proof of residency or homeownership is required.

Need assistance changing your smoke detector batteries? The Sea Isle Volunteer Fire Department can help. When you pick up your voucher on Saturday, simply inform the firefighters that you need help changing your batteries, and they will arrange a time and date to stop by your home.
