Dean Dooley is the driving force behind DSD Painting, one of the fastest-growing painting companies servicing Ocean City, Margate, Longport, Sea Isle City and the surrounding area.
Dooley’s journey from a distinguished career as a member of the Atlantic City Police Department, where he was recently promoted to captain, to an entrepreneur began with a passion for painting.
Inspired by a friend’s encouragement, he founded DSD Painting, which stands for Dean Scott Dooley Painting, igniting his movement to redefine the standard of excellence in residential painting services.
“I always liked to paint in my spare time, but a friend told me I should start a business,” Dooley said.

Dooley has years of experience in exterior and interior painting jobs. He has knowledge of different painting methods, which paints work best on different types of surfaces and how to clean and prep surfaces for painting.
DSD Painting, which is fully licensed and insured, will go all over for jobs, but mainly focuses on Cape May and Atlantic counties.
With about one and a half years left before he retires after 25 years in law enforcement, Dooley is gearing up to take on the painting business full time.
About three years ago, he began slowly in his side business. First, he did a couple of jobs, and before he knew it, he had a full list of customers in Ocean City, Margate and the surrounding area.
“Being an officer, I wanted to pick something to do in my retirement that I always loved to do,” Dooley, a married father of four, said. “Painting relaxes me, and I really enjoy it.”
