Due to continuing onshore winds and a waxing moon, several more rounds of coastal flooding are expected this week from the remnants of Tropical Storm Ophelia, according to Sea Isle City’s Office of Emergency Management.

Most of the tidal flooding will be in the minor stage – with the exception of Tuesday evening’s high tide around 7 p.m., which is expected to bring moderate tidal flooding.

Should you be in a low-lying part of town, take precautions and move your vehicle to higher ground.

Please do not drive through tidal floodwaters, because salt water will damage your car and you may stall out in the middle of the road. Also, the wake your vehicle creates by driving through floodwater may damage nearby properties.

For police or fire emergencies, call 911. For non-emergencies, call the Sea Isle Police Department at 609-263-4311, Ext. 0.
