Sea Isle City remains under a Coastal Flood Advisory in effect from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Sunday.

A Coastal Flood Advisory means that minor tidal flooding is expected. Minor tidal flooding often results in some road closures. Usually, the most vulnerable roadways will flood, according to a weather alert issued by the Sea Isle police department.

The National Weather Service is warning that rain and northeast winds gusting more than 35 mph could contribute to flooding conditions

Residents and visitors should monitor conditions and be prepared to move vehicles from areas that typically experience tidal flooding.

Police urge motorists not to drive through flood waters. The water may be deeper than you think it is. You will be putting yourself in danger and your vehicle may be damaged, leading to costly repairs.

The stormy weather has also created a high risk for dangerous rip currents through Sunday evening. Entering the surf is discouraged. Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water.
