Santa's Mailbox, located in the lobby of City Hall, is accepting letters from children to send directly to Santa Claus at the North Pole.

Sea Isle City has some real clout with Santa Claus.

It is a town that is pretty familiar with Saint Nick.

And a bit of proof is a bright, shiny red mailbox, complete with fake snow on top, in the lobby of City Hall with a sign that says: “Letters to Santa.”

“We ask all children to take the time to write a letter to Santa to drop off at a special mailbox,” Mayor Leonard Desiderio said. “It is a direct line to the North Pole.”

With less than two weeks before Christmas, now is the time to go with parents to slip those very special requests into Santa’s personalized mailbox at City Hall, at 233 John F. Kennedy Blvd.

And one thing is for sure, the mailbox can’t be missed. Families can stop in 24 hours a day.

“Having a mailbox devoted strictly to Santa Claus in the lobby of City Hall is a convenient way for local children to send their Christmas wish lists to Saint Nick,” explained Sea Isle Public Information Officer Katherine Custer.

Custer continued, “The best part is they don’t have to put stamps on their envelopes because the city will ensure that each letter deposited in our special red mailbox will arrive at the North Pole by Christmas Eve without the kids spending their allowance money on postage.”

Santa is waiting to hear what toys, games, clothes and other wishes kids would like to see under the tree Christmas morning.

Santa is waiting to hear from Sea Isle children.

Santa’s Mailbox is just one of the ways children can get in touch with Jolly Old Saint Nick in Sea Isle.

Just a few days ago, kids got to speak with Santa on the phone.

The city’s Recreation Office and the Knights of Columbus sponsor the popular program, “Santa’s Calling.”

On Dec. 11, Santa Claus called more than 40 children from his home on the North Pole, Custer noted.

If you missed Santa’s Calling and your letter is already in Santa’s Mailbox, there is another way to have Christmas fun with Santa.

On Sunday at 11:30 a.m., VFW Post 1963, which is located at 301 JFK Blvd., is hosting “Brunch with Santa.”

The event is being co-sponsored by the VFW and the city’s Recreation Office. Children ages 10 and under are invited to attend with their families and visit with Santa.
