First Bank of Sea Isle City recently donated $5,000 to St. Joseph Catholic Church as part of the bank’s community outreach efforts.

According to church officials, the money will be used to help renovate the kitchen in the parish auditorium.

“On behalf of St. Joseph parish, I extend my deep gratitude to First Bank of Sea Isle City for their generous gift of $5,000 to help fund the kitchen renovation project soon to begin in the auditorium,” Father Perry Cherubini, church pastor, said in a news release.

First Bank President and CEO Larry Schmidt said the donation reflects the bank’s core values as a partner in the local community.

“We hope that our donation will help St. Joseph’s Church meet their community needs and gather people together for good causes,” Schmidt said.

Father Cherubini explained that a fully functional kitchen will enable the church to have “many new and exciting social events and faith-based activities that will allow the parish to create multi-generational activities – and at the same time support the needs of others.”

“We will be able to host spaghetti dinners, special Sunday pancake breakfasts, parish socials, a Lenten soup and scripture series, and fish dinners during Lent. The possibilities are endless,” he added.
