It’s not too late to sign up for summer camps and clinics in Sea Isle City.

Starting Wednesday and running through Sept. 5, the camps and clinics offer an array of ways for both children and adults to keep active, entertained and healthy. While some programs have filled up, there are still many others that have open slots.

Sea Isle Public Information Officer Katherine Custer said amid the coronavirus pandemic, when so many cancellations replaced events in the city, it is refreshing to be able to offer something so enjoyable for children and adults.

“Even though many events were cancelled due to the coronavirus, numerous fitness programs, a wide variety of sports camps and other activities such as Art Camp and Marine Science Camp are still available in Sea Isle City this summer,” she said.

Ages for camps vary, but some camps begin at age 4.

Sports lovers can learn or brush up on their lacrosse, basketball and soccer skills at the camps and clinics.

For kids who enjoy art or have a love for marine science, the camps are a popular way to hone their artistic and scientific skills.

Campers in the art program can create works out of clay, mosaic, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, mixed media and more.

Marine Science Camp activities include marine ecology education, water quality sampling and testing and plant and animal identification.

Custer pointed out how important the fitness programs, such as yoga, are to vacationers and residents.

“The fitness programs are a great way to stay active, especially after spending so much time indoors this spring during the pandemic, and the camps help younger folks sharpen their athletic skills and learn new things,” she said.

There is one camp that will only be held remotely.

“The SAT Camps are being held virtually, but knowing how devoted to education the organizers at Advance Test Review are, I am certain it will still be very effective program that will help many high school students reach their academic goals,” Custer noted of the company that oversees the SAT camps.

Despite a late start for the attractions, the city is pleased to once again offer the popular camps and clinics to the children and their families who live in or visit the resort over the summer, Custer emphasized.

“The City’s Administration is very happy that Sea Isle’s public facilities can be put to good use as much as possible during these difficult times – especially since people are eager to reconnect with others in a safe manner,” she said.

In all camps and clinics, social distancing guidelines, mask requirements and other COVID-19 restrictions will be adhered to.

While some camps and clinics are sold out, there is still a wide range of others open and available for signups. For more information, visit www.visitsicnj.com.
