Sea Isle City's new $21 million Community Center will be open to the public for the Community Day events
Mayor Leonard Desiderio and members of City Council are inviting the public to Sea Isle City’s annual Community Day event on Saturday, May 9, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Community Center on 4500 Central Avenue.
The newly opened $21 million Community Center serves as the new location for the free event. The building will be open for tours to the public.
Along with the special event at the Community Center, City Hall will have special Saturday hours and the municipal offices on the first and second floors will be open for business from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
There will also be a City Council meeting at 9 a.m. on the third floor in City Hall at 233 JFK Boulevard.
Free document shredding is provided courtesy of the First Bank of Sea Isle City from 9 a.m. to noon in the Community Center’s open air parking lot along Central Avenue.
Items to be shredded may include documents with staples and clips, folders, tabs, binders, CDs and DVDs. Hard drives are not permitted to be shredded.
Also in the parking lot at 10:15 a.m., there will be a municipal bicycle auction. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. and all bidders must register to participate in the auction. Payments of cash or check will be accepted. The rain location for the bike auction is the parking garage underneath the Community Center.
From 10 a.m. to noon, inside the Community Room on the first floor in the Community Center, members of the public can meet Sea Isle City officials and employees, representatives from county and local organizations, and members from different civic groups.
There will also be giveaways and free face painting for the children.
Also in the Community Room at 11:30 a.m., Mayor Desiderio will present his annual “Do the Right Thing” awards and recognize the 2026 winners of the beach tag art contest.
The First Bank of Sea Isle City will present the 2026 Community Partnership Award and the Sea Isle City Chamber of Commerce will present the 2026 Scholarship awards.
