The Sixers announced that they will wear their black throwback jerseys — this year's "Hardwood Classic" threads — for all games played at Xfinity Mobile Arena this postseason:
"Throughout the entirety of the 2026 NBA Postseason, the 76ers will wear their 2025-26 Hardwood Classic Edition uniforms during each home game as well as play on the Hardwood Classic Edition throwback court. The iconic black jerseys unveiled at the start of this season were a top 5 all-time Classic jersey launch in Fanatics history and were the second best-selling jersey by a wide margin this year."
From 1997-2009, the Sixers wore these black jerseys as primary threads. Obviously, they became most associated with Allen Iverson, who won the 2000-01 NBA MVP for a team that made an improbable run to the NBA Finals before losing in five games to the Los Angeles Lakers.
It would be even more improbable for Nick Nurse's 2025-26 Sixers to go on a deep playoff run, particularly with Joel Embiid out indefinitely after having surgery to remove his appendix.
The Sixers will host the Orlando Magic Wednesday, while donning the uniforms, in the Play-In tournament. As OnPattison's Bob Cooney noted, if they win on Wednesday, the Sixers will be the No. 7 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs and face off with the Boston Celtics beginning next weekend. With a loss on Wednesday, the Sixers would host a win-or-go-home game against the winner of the Charlotte Hornets and Miami Heat to try to secure the eighth and final seed in the Eastern Conference.
