Each year, Sea Isle City’s Environmental Commission and Shade Tree Committee honor a municipal employee who displays “dedication and hard work while planting and maintaining flowers, shrubs and trees that beautify Sea Isle City.”
This year’s “Green Thumb Award” recipient is Senior Public Works Repairer Nick Bednarek, a member of Sea Isle’s Public Works Department since 2012. He also serves as Sea Isle’s Recycling coordinator.
The award was presented to Bednarek on April 25 during Sea Isle’s annual Arbor Day ceremony, which was hosted by the members of the local Beautification Committee, Environmental Commission, Garden Club, Green Team, and Historical Society.
According to Sea Isle Director of Public Works Don Teefy, Bednarek is a “model employee” who “always gets the job done.”
“Nick is very proactive when working on projects and we can always count on him – whichever hat he is wearing that day,” Teefy said.
