Sea Isle Prepares for Skimmer Festival, its Signature Summer Event

Vendors' tents line the Promenade for a shopping extravaganza during the opening day of the Skimmer Festival.

Sea Isle City’s Division of Tourism will host the annual Skimmer Festival on Saturday and Sunday, June 14-15, for a weekend filled with activities for all ages.

On Saturday, June 14, the festival begins with a Seaside Vendors Market from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. along the oceanfront Promenade, north and south of JFK Boulevard.

Vendors will set up tables filled with an array of items for sale, including handmade crafts, artwork, assorted clothing, accessories, pet and baby items, and much more.

Also, a variety of food and beverages will be available in the Skimmer Food Court at JFK Boulevard and Pleasure Avenue from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In addition to the vendors, nonprofit organizations and civic groups will be located near the festival’s center at JFK Boulevard along the Promenade. They will distribute literature and information about their organizations.

The Sea Isle City Police Department and Cross County Connection will also be on hand to educate the public with bicycle and pedestrian safety information and tips.

Also, a city beach tag official will be selling the specialty 2025 autumn and winter holiday seasonal beach tags for $30 each (cash or check only, while supplies last).

On Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., free family entertainment will be found in Excursion Park, including live music from Brass Pocket Band, inflatable bounce houses, balloon artists, face painters, a photo booth, and an art bar. Also, children can create sand art souvenirs for a fee on Saturday.

Vintage cars and trucks will grace the Promenade on Father's Day.

On Sunday, June 15, Father’s Day, the Skimmer Antique Auto Show will attract classic vehicles and car enthusiasts to the Promenade (north of JFK Boulevard) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Classic car owners can find registration information at www.VISITSICNJ.com under the calendar listing for the event. Same day registration will also be available. Classic car owners can enter the Promenade at 29th Street and register on site on Sunday morning.

The Snake Brothers Band will play under the Gazebo on the Promenade at JFK Boulevard from 10 a.m. to noon on Sunday.

At 1 p.m., Mayor Leonard Desiderio will present plaques to the car show winners in front of the Gazebo.

After the awards ceremony, at approximately 1:30 p.m., the classic cars will form a parade by exiting the Promenade at 44th Street. The parade route will run south on Pleasure Avenue to 93rd Street and then run north on Landis Avenue to JFK Boulevard.

The Skimmer Festival, Sea Isle's signature summer event, received its name from the summertime straw hats formerly worn by Victorian gentlemen. To announce that Sea Isle City was open for business after the infamous Ash Wednesday Storm of 1962, local community leaders started the festival in 1963. This event has since become an annual tradition for families and visitors to enjoy for the last 62 years.

For more information about the 2025 Skimmer Festival Weekend, call the Sea Isle City Tourism Office at 609-263-8687, go to www.VISITSICNJ.com or visit the Sea Isle City Welcome Center at 300 JFK Boulevard.

Festivalgoers line up at one of the food stands.
