Coastal Flood Watch in Effect Through Tuesday Afternoon

  • News
The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Watch in effect for Sea Isle City and nearby coastal areas from 6 a.m. Monday through 2 p.m. Tuesday. A full moon and strong northeast winds gusting beyond 30 mph will combine to cause minor coastal flooding. “Widespread minor flooding is likely with the Monday morning high tide, but the highest water levels are expected with the Monday evening and Tuesday morning high tides,” according to a weather alert from the Sea Isle Police Department. Residents should be prepared to move vehicles to safe places well in advance of high tide. For your safety and the protection of your vehicle and neighboring properties, never attempt to drive through floodwaters, and do not drive around barricades. “Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. If travel is required, do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth,” the weather alert says. For police and fire department emergencies, call 911. For non-emergencies, call the Sea Isle Police Department at (609) 263-4311.
