The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Sea Isle City and other parts of South Jersey until 8 p.m. Saturday.
Heat index values are expected to soar up to 105 degrees in Atlantic, Cape May and Cumberland counties.
Very warm and humid conditions Friday night will offer little relief from the heat. Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat-related illnesses.
“Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing,” according to a heat warning issued by the Sea Isle Police Department.
The heat warning also urges everyone to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening hours and to take action if they see symptoms of heat exhaustion or heat stroke.
