Children Enjoy “Storytime” With Sea Isle Police

  • News
By MADDY VITALE The Sea Isle City Police Department continues to reach out to the community to show residents and visitors that even though their main job is to protect the public, they also can have a little fun. "Storytime" is a prime example. The department held its first “Storytime” on Thursday, Feb. 8 at the police headquarters, 233 JFK Boulevard, giving children and their families a treat. The officers read children’s books to them. And there is more in store. “Our department is excited to announce we will be hosting our second Storytime with SICPD (Sea Isle City Police Department)," police said on the department's Facebook page. "Join us for a few children’s books and to get to know some of the faces which make up our department."
Officers display some reading materials for the first "Storytime." Anyone who missed the first Storytime or would like to attend the second one can go to the police department on Thursday, March 7 from 7:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m., for another exciting night of officers reading books to children. Children are encouraged to bring one of their favorite books or they could just listen to the ones provided by other children or the officers. Two of the books read at the Feb. 8 Storytime were “The Foot Book” by Dr. Seuss and “Hello Sea Isle City” by Sea Isle resident Cheryl Kehner. All ages are welcome to attend the March 7 event. Free snacks and drinks will also be provided, police said. “We look forward to seeing you there,” police said in the Facebook post. Anyone interested in attending or for questions, reach out to [email protected].
