The Atlantic County Animal Shelter is offering dogs 25 pounds and up for free on May 4.
On Saturday, May 4, the Atlantic County Animal Shelter will waive all adoption fees for dogs weighing 25 pounds and more as part of its Star Wars-themed promotion, “May the 4th Be with You.” Appointments are not needed for this event.
This special promotion is in addition to a 50 percent discount on adoption fees for senior pets and cats available for immediate adoption. Veterans who adopt a pet are also entitled to receive a 50 percent discount at all times.
Regular adoption fees are $110 for dogs and puppies and $85 for cats and kittens and include mandatory sterilization, age-appropriate vaccinations, diagnostic testing, a microchip and free veterinary consultation. Adopted canines also receive two free obedience classes.
