  • News
The second winter storm of this week is expected to bring accumulating snowfall to Cape May County from Thursday night through Friday morning. Most snow is expected to fall between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. Friday, according to the Cape May County Office of Emergency Management. This will impact travel, particularly during the Friday morning commute. Total snowfall of 2 to 5 inches is expected across much of the region. A narrow band of heavy snow may produce amounts of up to 6 inches. The highest probability for this being south and east of the I-95 corridor. Within the narrow band, snowfall rates up to 2 inches per hour are possible. Gale force winds are expected across the Atlantic coastal waters and lower Delaware Bay. For police and fire department emergencies, call 911. For non-emergencies, call the Sea Isle City Police Department at 609-263-4311. In addition, the following Cape May County services will be closed or will have limited services on Friday: Fare Free Transportation has canceled all services, with the exception of Meals on Wheels and dialysis clients. Fare Free will continue to participate in the Code Blue program during this time. All countywide Senior Centers will be closed on Friday as a safety precaution.
