Obviously, the coronavirus situation is dominating much of the news. Attached to this newsletter is an informational brochure on the coronavirus issued by the Cape May County Department of Health.
It contains basic information about the virus, along with preventive and care measures, and links to other resources including the New Jersey Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Most everybody has probably heard and read more news and information about the coronavirus than we could possibly share with you. This is a constantly changing situation, and I urge everyone to remain calm and take common sense measures.
The City will take guidance on this matter from the County Department of Health, who in turn is taking guidance from the appropriate state and federal agencies, including the NJ Department of Health and the CDC. We will continue to communicate to the public in coordination with these agencies.
In the meantime, please be aware that the Shriner’s Hospital Fundraiser, which was scheduled to take place on Friday evening here in Sea Isle City, has been postponed until Friday, April 17. Also, Sea Isle City’s 2020 Saint Patrick’s Day Parade, which was planned for this Saturday, will now take place on Saturday, April 18. As always, you can find information about these and other local events (including any schedule changes) at

As I’ve mentioned in the past, during this time of year, your municipal government is working diligently to improve Sea Isle City’s infrastructure, complete important projects, and plan for an exciting year ahead. One project that we are currently focused on is the construction of our future Fishing Pier & Kayak Launch at Dealy Field.
After years of planning, the “Kayak Project,” as it is often simply called, has just received permit approval from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection – which is a big step forward for this effort.
Next, we need approval from the Army Corps of Engineers, which we hope to receive later this spring.
At the March 24 City Council meeting, we will be recommending award of the construction contract for the Fishing Pier & Kayak Launch project to the low bidder, conditional on issuance of the Army Corps permit.
We appreciate everyone’s patience as we work to complete this important project, and we promise to keep you informed as new developments are available.
Smile…You’re in Sea Isle!
