Bitter Cold Brings "Code Blue" Advisory for Cape May County on Thanksgiving

The National Weather Service is predicting extreme cold, but no snow for Cape May County.

The Office of Emergency Management has issued a “Code Blue” advisory for all of Cape May County effective from 4:30 p.m. Wednesday to 8:30 a.m. Thursday and Thursday from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 a.m. Friday. 
Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 23 degrees. Northwest wind around 16 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Thanksgiving Day: Sunny, with a high near 30. Blustery, with a north wind 16 to 20 mph. Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 17. North wind 11 to 15 mph. Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 33. Saturday: Rain likely, mainly after 1 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 56. Breezy. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. “Code Blue” conditions are in effect when the temperature reaches 25 degrees Fahrenheit or lower with clear skies or 32 degrees Fahrenheit or lower with precipitation. Please be aware that there may be people in your municipality that require temporary sheltering during this advisory period. Persons seeking temporary shelter in a warming center should contact their local municipality.
