HALLOWEEN & OCTOBERFEST CELEBRATIONS OCTOBER 21 & 22

The annual Halloween Parade and Family Dance Party sponsored by the City’s Division of Recreation will take place on Friday, October 21 along Landis Avenue, from 45th Street to JFK Boulevard, at 7:00 p.m. and will delight Halloween-lovers of all ages.  The parade will feature live music, strolling entertainers, floats, local organizations and many well-costumed participants will appear. The Halloween Family Dance Party will take place at the Excursion Park Band Shell immediately after the parade. The free Dance Party will be led by D.J. Jeff, who will keep “spirits” high and delight families with seasonal music and popular dance favorites. To learn more about the Halloween activities, phone (609) 263-0050. On Saturday, October 22, the Sea Isle City Chamber of Commerce and Revitalization will host their annual Octoberfest celebration at Excursion Park, JFK Boulevard and Pleasure Avenue, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The family-friendly event will include free hayrides on the JFK Boulevard Beach, live music by the Philadelphia German Brass Band, craft and food vendors, a magic show, pumpkin painting and free children’s activities. Also, the very popular Octoberfest Pie Baking Contest will take place at The Braca Café on JFK Boulevard.  Prizes will be awarded to the bakers of the top three winning “dessert” pies.  To enter the Pie Baking Contest, bakers must submit a completed entry form by Thursday, October 20.  No entry fee is required.  Only pre-registered pies will be accepted on the day of the competition.
