World Vision notes the worldwide hunger crisis that is currently seeing 21 million children face the heart-stopping effects of starvation. To put this number into perspective for United States citizens, they say it’s the populations of New York City, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and Phoenix combined.

The economists and data analysts at the nonprofit organization say rising general costs, the pandemic, regional conflicts, and extreme weather are all contributing to the severity of the hunger emergency.

And the ongoing war in Ukraine certainly hasn’t made life easier for anyone, including those suffering starvation, because the Russian Federation and Ukraine itself supply nearly one-third of the world’s cereal grains and two-thirds of the globe’s sunflower oil.

Humanitarian Organization Proves That They Make a Positive Impact

While the hunger crisis is far from solved, the faith-based humanitarian charity has made giant leaps forward, thanks to their partnerships and continued passionate efforts.

In fact, 89% of severely malnourished children that World Vision treated made a full recovery, and the organization is statistically the World Food Program’s biggest distribution partner!

And the charity shows no signs of slowing down. Edgar Sandoval Senior, the president, and CEO of World Vision U.S., says globally, we are dealing with the modern time’s worst hunger crisis, and there are 40 million people around the world on the edge of starvation, and almost half of those are children.

With such exceptional values, it’s no wonder the Mehta Marketing philanthropy team was delighted by the opportunity to volunteer with World Vision Sewickley, located at 210 Overlook Drive, Sewickley, PA.

This World Vision facility acts as the global distribution center for the charity’s Gifts in Kind program, which allows companies to get rid of excess products in a way that doesn’t just help the environment but children in need.

While Mehta’s employees volunteered at the nonprofit’s Sewickley center, they helped with the Gifts in Kind program’s humanitarian aid. They managed to source five filled-to-the-brim pallets of clothing that helped 3,000 people in need.

The volunteers helped pick up, process, and distribute the apparel from overstocked manufacturers and retailers to people around the world who needed them most.

The charity rapidly aligns the Sewickley center’s donations with the demand as per the pre-defined plan. Then, volunteers like those from Mehta Marketing help pack and pallet the supply for easy shipment.
