Now that January has come and gone (very quickly, might I add), spring isn’t far away. As I previously mentioned, our City employees are working diligently to ensure that the spring and summer – as well as the remainder of the year – will be safe, enjoyable and entertaining. The first step to achieving this goal is to make certain that we have a sound and well-planned municipal budget.  With that in mind, during the February 13 City Council meeting I will present Sea Isle’s 2018 Municipal Budget to City Council for their consideration. Then, Council will host a Budget Workshop in Council Chambers at 9:00 a.m. on February 15, which will be open to the public.

In addition to presenting this year’s budget to City Council, I will also deliver my annual State of the City Address on February 13, at which time I will highlight the many achievements we have made during the past year along with important goals for the future. Additionally, representatives from the Cape May County American Legion will present Certificates of Appreciation to Sea Isle City’s Police and Fire Departments during the February 13 Council meeting – so I hope you can join us on that day!

This week’s “Shout Out” goes to World War II Navy Veteran Gerald “Mr. G” Gardner, who was recently presented with a “Quilt of Valor” from South Jersey Quilts of Valor. Mr. G (the former owner of Mr. G’s Little Chef Restaurant on Landis Avenue) belongs to an elite group of “Greatest Generation” residents living here in Sea Isle City who are fine examples of American patriotism. Congratulations Mr. G!

Smile…You’re in Sea Isle!
