Margate’s mayor issued an apology to Jason and Kylie Kelce after a run-in with a woman outside a city restaurant went viral.
The recently retired Philadelphia Eagles star center and his wife apparently were in Margate for dinner at Steve & Cookie’s when the confrontation occurred.
A video posted online mistakenly labeling the town as Sea Isle City shows the former field hockey star and an unidentified woman just inches apart.
“I don’t care who you are,” the unidentified woman yells at Kylie Kelce. “You’ll never be allowed in this town again.”
Several media outlets have reported that witnesses said the Kelces sparked the woman’s ire by kindly declining a photo. She would not take no for an answer.
Kylie Kelce — who has gained a huge fan following apart from her husband — then stood her ground.
“I can smell the alcohol on your breath,” Kylie Kelce can be heard saying. “You’re embarrassing yourself.”

The video’s mislabeling as occurring in Sea Isle City is likely because the Cape May County town has become somewhat of a second home for the Kelces.
They bought a summer home in the city in 2022, after Kelce spent years as a vacationer.
He is due back in Sea Isle on June 26, to spend his fourth year in a row playing celebrity bartender at the Ocean Drive bar and sister property O’Donnell’s Pour House on Landis Avenue for a fundraiser that benefits the Eagles Autism Foundation.
The viral video made the rounds with major media outlets this week, including TMZ.
Margate Mayor Michael Collins then decided to step in and offer the couple a do-over.
“On behalf of the City of Margate, I’d like to formally apologize to Jason & Kylie Kelce for the experience they had in Margate City over the holiday weekend,” Collins wrote. “As a father with young children, I know as well as anyone the importance of a date night with your wife and would like to offer a redo date night with dinner on me.”
The Kelces have not yet addressed it publicly, but it could likely get a mention on the “New Heights” podcast Jason Kelce does with his brother, Travis Kelce, tight end for the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs and current boyfriend of Taylor Swift.
