The Ingram’s Thorofare Bridge leading to Avalon has reopened to traffic.
It was closed on Thursday night to allow a construction contractor to install the “shoring” to support the bridge.
“The shoring has been inspected and verified by the county’s consultant,” Cape May County said in a statement Friday.
The bridge and roadway are now open for traffic and will remain open going forward, the county said.
During the bridge’s closure, motorists had to follow lengthy detours to get to Avalon.
