The Ingram’s Thorofare Bridge leading to Avalon will be closed Thursday from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. for ongoing construction. As a result, Avalon Boulevard (C.R. 601) will be closed to traffic during the same hours.
The roadway and bridge will reopen after those hours and remain open thereafter.
Detours will be in effect during the bridge closure.
Local traffic will be permitted to access Avalon Boulevard up to the Ingram’s Thorofare Bridge from either side, but will not be permitted to cross the bridge.
The closure date is subject to the weather and may be rescheduled.
Concrete work will be done on the bridge when it is closed and is part of the first stage of the construction project.
