A dinner was recently donated to the Upper Township Rescue Squad by Cape May County Freeholder Vice-Director Leonard Desiderio and the 1st Bank of Sea Isle City.

It was one of the many generous community efforts that individuals and groups are undertaking to thank first-line responders during the coronavirus pandemic, the county said in a press release.

Freeholder Jeff Pierson represented Desiderio, who was unable to attend the food delivery due to work-related commitments. Desiderio also serves as the mayor of Sea Isle City. The donated food was prepared by A Modo Mio Ristorante in Sea Isle.

“Many of us are trying to give back and Len is always one of the first ones to go out of his way to help,” Pierson said in the release. “I thank him and 1st Bank of Sea Isle City for the generous gift. I was proud to present it to our first responders in my hometown of Upper Township.”
