The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory in effect for Sea Isle City from 4 a.m. through 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 1.

With a new moon approaching, tides are expected to be higher than normal and cause “minor” flooding.

“At this level, flooding begins on the most vulnerable roads in coastal and bayside communities, and along inland tidal waterways. Some partial or full road closures are possible,” according to a weather alert issued by the Sea Isle Police Department.

Steady rain could contribute to flooding conditions over the weekend into Sunday.

“Do not leave your vehicle at a location that is prone to tidal flooding,” the weather alert says. “Do not drive your vehicle through flood waters. The water may be deeper than you think it is. You will be putting yourself in danger and your vehicle may be damaged, leading to costly repairs.”

For Police and Fire Department emergencies, call 911. For non-emergencies, call 609-263-4311.
