VFW Post 1963’s Auxiliary in Sea Isle City wants people to cruise down to the post — for a very worthy cause.

The Auxiliary is hosting “Cruise for a Cause.” Raffle tickets are three for $5. All of the proceeds go to veterans and the prizes are two cruising bicycles.

“Two of our members donated the bicycles to us,” Auxiliary President Patti Lloyd said. “When we get a donation like that, we do a raffle and 100 percent of the proceeds will go to veterans.”

The drawing will be at Post 1963, which is located at 301 JFK Boulevard on Saturday, April 16, at 4 p.m. Ticket holders do not have to be present for drawing.

“There is always somebody in need somewhere,” Lloyd noted, adding that this is one of several fundraisers the Auxiliary does throughout the year. “We are doing our three chances for $5. You don’t have to be a member. All you have to do is stop by for the tickets.”

The Auxiliary supports veterans in the region. including the Vineland Veterans Home as well as rehabilitation centers for veterans.

“We try and support veterans any way we can,” Lloyd said. “We also support the United Methodist Church here in Sea Isle with food donations.”

Lloyd said if people don’t want a chance to win the bicycles, but would like to donate to the Auxiliary to help veterans, they can do so.

“They could just put their donation in an envelope that is made out to the Auxiliary and drop it off to the Post,” she said. “We want to thank all of the people for their support for the veterans.”
