The summer concerts are coming back and that means visitors to Sea Isle City and residents alike, will once again enjoy the sounds of their favorite tribute bands and a few new ones at Excursion Park’s Band Shell.

After a summer without the outdoor concerts at the venue in 2020, the city is bringing back the popular attraction, as gathering restrictions have loosened during the COVID-19 pandemic and more people have been vaccinated.

City Council approved a resolution at its Tuesday meeting authorizing a professional service contract for summer concerts in the amount of $114,000 to a company called, Go Events.

City officials said this summer, concert goers will have an array of bands to enjoy throughout the season.

Sea Isle City Public Information Officer Katherine Custer said the city is, “very happy to resume our usual summer concert series at the Band Shell.”

“While we all still have to practice social distancing and follow all CDC guidelines to keep everyone safe, I’m sure spectators will thoroughly enjoy this year’s lineup of entertainers,” Custer noted.

She said, “We have some really big talent coming and big shows planned. We are excited to be able to do this for the community.”

In addition to a couple of the tribute bands that are new this year, Custer noted that there are “many of the familiar bands that have delighted audience members in recent summers.”

Along with concerts, there will also be Movie Nights throughout the summer to give families an entertaining evening, while lounging on their beach chairs or towels.

Concerts begin on June 26 when “Chicago 9” does its best renditions of Chicago songs from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Excursion Park.

Other concerts include a July 17 performance, also from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., with “Real Diamond,” performing Neil Diamond songs. On Aug. 7, “Seven Bridges” will sing Eagles tunes for the summer concert goers.
