This weather statement was issued by Sea Isle City’s Office of Emergency Management:

As we continue to feel the effects from Ian, we can expect continued gusty winds, rain, and moderate tidal flooding.

Today’s high tide of concern will occur at approximately 4.30 p.m. Flood waters are expected to continue to rise for approximately one hour afterwards.

Please take precautions, such as keeping your vehicles out of flood zones and not venturing out during high tide.

The storm system should start to move out starting on Wednesday, slowly bringing improved conditions for our area.

We continue to see vehicles driving through tidal flood waters, causing destructive wakes – and we continue to see vehicles stall out while doing so, requiring rescue from nearby residents and the police.

For the sake of you and your passengers – and the residents and properties around you – please turn around when approaching flood waters and find alternative routes.

If you need non-emergency police assistance, call 609-263-4311, ext. 0. For emergencies, call 911.
