The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Sea Isle City effective from 7 p.m. Friday to 7 p.m. Saturday.

Heavy snowfall of between 6 and 12 inches is expected along the coast, although the forecast still remains uncertain because of the possible track of the storm. Snow may be heavy at times through mid-afternoon Saturday before diminishing Saturday evening.

Strong winds gusting as high as 45 mph will combine with the snowfall to make travel “very difficult to impossible” at times, according to a weather alert issued by the Sea Isle Police Department.

“Strong winds may generate blowing snow and very low visibilities at times,” the alert says.

Minor coastal flooding is expected during the hours around high tide on Saturday morning.

Homeowners are urged to monitor the conditions and be prepared to move their vehicles to a safe location before going to bed on Friday night.
