A power outage has temporarily closed the Sea Isle City Welcome Center.

Starting Wednesday, May 13, Sea Isle City’s Beach Tag Office will begin selling 2020 seasonal beach tags, distributing pre-purchased beach tags and distributing 2020 veterans beach tags from the Welcome Center, located at 300 JFK Boulevard.

Beach Tag Office staff will be on duty seven days a week, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. However, the public is asked to afford senior citizens and veterans the courtesy of exclusive access to the Beach Tag Office between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. from Monday through Friday throughout May.

Due to COVID-19, the lobby of the Welcome Center will remain closed to the public until further notice. Beach tags will be sold and distributed through the two exterior windows next to the Welcome Center’s front doors.

In order to practice social distancing, when more than two people are present, customers are asked to form a line starting at the bottom of the steps in front of the Welcome Center (on the sidewalk) and to wait until they are called to one of the two windows. Customers are asked to wear face masks when they approach the Welcome Center windows.

There is still ample time before Memorial Day weekend arrives to distribute beach tags, so there is no need to rush. Also, the city has more than enough veterans beach tags available for those who served our nation in uniform – and definitely won’t run out.

Traditionally, the city’s pre-season rate for beach tags ($20) ends on May 15. Because of the coronavirus, City Council recently passed a resolution extending the pre-season rate through June 30. On July 1, the cost for seasonal beach tags will increase to $25 (the regular seasonal rate).
