Maria Gallucci’s work in real estate is deeply rooted in lived experience. Long before she entered the industry, she learned what it means to navigate systems that are not designed for everyone. Born on June 9, 1975, and raised in Colorado by Deaf parents, Gallucci grew up between Deaf and hearing worlds. American Sign Language was her first language, and communication was never something she took for granted. From childhood, she understood that access to information determines whether people feel empowered or excluded. As one of six siblings, all of whom are hearing, Gallucci often served as a bridge between her family and the hearing world. By the age of five, she was interpreting medical conversations and school meetings. At twelve, she helped her parents during the purchase of their first home by acting as an unofficial interpreter. These moments were not symbolic gestures but real responsibilities placed on a child. They exposed her to the consequences of communication barriers and showed her how easily people can lose control over decisions that affect their lives when they are not fully included. Those early experiences shaped how Gallucci viewed trust and independence. She saw how easily misunderstandings could arise and how often Deaf individuals were forced to rely on others to interpret critical information. Over time, she came to understand that true access means more than being present in a room. It means having information delivered in a way that respects language, culture, and autonomy. This belief would later become the foundation of her professional philosophy. Gallucci began her real estate career in the early 1990s and built experience across residential sales, new construction, investment properties, and builder representation. Her work has focused largely on Colorado, including the Denver metropolitan area, Colorado Springs, Northern and Southern Colorado, and the Western Slope, while also extending into national markets. From the beginning, she approached real estate as a relationship driven profession rather than a transactional one. She prioritized clarity, transparency, and informed decision making, recognizing that housing is one of the most significant financial choices people make. Her personal history led her to create solutions that addressed long standing gaps in the industry. Gallucci founded Gallucci Homes and later established ASL Realty, a national platform designed to connect Deaf and Hard of Hearing clients with real estate professionals fluent in American Sign Language. ASL Realty was created to remove communication barriers that often prevent clients from fully understanding contracts, negotiations, and timelines. By offering direct communication and culturally competent service, the platform allows clients to participate independently and confidently throughout the real estate process. In addition to ASL Realty, Gallucci founded Uptown Realty Group and the ASL at Compass Affinity Group. These initiatives were created to support ASL fluent agents and to foster a stronger sense of community within the industry. Her leadership reflects a commitment to improving systems from the inside, ensuring that inclusive practices are not exceptions but standards. Gallucci’s approach centers on the belief that housing equity begins with communication. She emphasizes visual clarity, direct access to information, and respect for client autonomy. Rather than relying on intermediaries, she advocates for systems that allow individuals to engage directly with professionals who understand their language and culture. Her work demonstrates that when clients are fully informed, trust is built naturally and outcomes improve. Her professional success reflects the strength of this model. Gallucci ranks among the top 1.5 percent of real estate agents nationally and is a top producing agent at Compass Real Estate. She has received numerous honors for production excellence, leadership, and client service. These include recognition as a Top 1 percent Colorado REALTOR, Real Producers Top 1 percent REALTOR, the 5280 Magazine Double Black Diamond Award, Real Trends Top 100 Agent, Best Real Estate Agent in America honors from both Real Trends and Tom Ferry, Outstanding Women in Business recognition, the Five Star Real Estate Agent designation, and multiple awards from regional REALTOR associations. Beyond real estate, Gallucci is deeply involved in advocacy and community service. She serves on the boards of Rocky Mountain Deaf School (DOVE), which supports Deaf survivors of violence, and the Colorado Association of the Deaf. Her advocacy focuses on reducing systemic communication barriers and improving access to housing and support services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals, survivors of violence, and members of the LGBTQ community. She integrates principles of social entrepreneurship, sustainability, and community empowerment into her work. Gallucci is also the bestselling author of Raised in Silence, published on September 11, 2025, by Peaceful Profits. The memoir explores her experience growing up as a hearing child of Deaf parents and examines themes of communication, identity, responsibility, and belonging. Written for a broad audience, the book blends personal narrative with guidance on inclusive communication and leadership, encouraging readers to apply empathy in everyday interactions. Today, Maria Gallucci continues to live and work in Colorado, guided by the lessons she learned early in life. Growing up between worlds taught her that access is not automatic and trust must be earned through understanding. Her career stands as an example of how personal experience can inform professional excellence, and how real estate can become a platform for equity when communication is treated as essential rather than optional.
