OnPattison🚦has obtained some additional details on where things stand between Bryce Harper and Under Armour, the apparel brand that he's had an endorsement with for the entirety of his 14-year career.

Harper caused a bit of a stir on Friday evening when he posted a TikTok of him wearing Travis Scott Air Jordans, which are made by Nike. When a fan asked Harper about where things stand with Under Armour, he responded in a comment that read "Free agent in the apparel/footwear category right now buddy."

Obviously, Harper knows his contractual status better than anyone. But there is more context, according to multiple sources.

The extension that Harper signed with Under Armour back in May of 2016 has expired. For what it's worth, we're told it expired at the end of the calendar year of 2025 — which obviously is pretty recent — not at the conclusion of this past MLB season. Harper and Under Armour remain in negotiations, and while that doesn't necessarily mean the two sides will ultimately agree to extend their relationship, it would be incorrect to assume that the two-time NL MVP's partnership with the apparel brand is definitely over because he's a free agent right now.

Harper is typically very intentional with things that he says and does publicly, so it's interesting to consider why he may have acknowledged on social media Friday that he is currently a free agent, and done so while wearing a Nike product. We'll continue to keep an eye on this story.
