NJ Treasury Department Buys Beam Global’s EV ARC

In early January 2026, the New Jersey Department of the Treasury placed multiple orders for EV ARC systems by Beam Global. In the press release shared on Yahoo, this is the third deployment by an NJ State Division. Previous purchases have been made by the Department of Environmental Protection and the Transportation Department. The buying process entailed a competitive public bid. And the treasury department used the firm's General Services Administration or GSA Multiple Award Contract to procure multiple chargers. The charging solutions will secure energy flow for government operations and steady vehicle charging at the workplace. Desmond Wheatley, CEO of Beam, confirmed this by saying, “Our infrastructure offers electricity off the grid for reliable workplace electrification. The units will boost energy resilience and eradicate utility disruptions like power outages.” In other news the region's gas tax is rising by 4.2 cents because of low fuel use, as people embrace electrified mobility. Setting up these chargers could have a positive impact on local communities.

Energy Stability

EV ARC possesses innovative features that ensure uninterrupted supply of energy while eliminating grid dependence. Each ARC, for example, generates its electricity from the sun through solar panels and stores it to deliver undisrupted and renewable energy. The sun-tracking technology embedded in the solutions supports the production of 25% more electricity. So, even during power outages, drivers can still charge their vehicles, hence providing the needed reliability to power the government fleet. Still on charging, the infrastructure can charge six cars at a time, which translates to 265 e-miles in a day. Concerns about flooding and strong winds are addressed by the unit's resilient architecture. The ARC can withstand winds speeds of about 165 mph and floods up to 9.5 feet.

Quick Infrastructure Set-up

If you envision the installation of chargers for EVs, you see a daunting process that involves digging trenches, construction, and utility grid connection. That’s not the case with these systems by Beam Global. They’re easy to install as they don’t require electrical work and trenching. Once the units arrive on site, technicians place them on a flat, paved area like a parking space, with existing asphalt or concrete surfaces. The self-contained feature of these chargers means they come with solar panels for generating electricity and batteries for power storage. So, the complexities of local state permits, construction, and electrical wiring are eliminated, allowing for the immediate charging of cars.

Clients are only required to select chargers of their choices and the company takes care of the rest. Whether it’s a charger for commercial or home use required, Beam handles the EV charging station plans, designs, and installation. Deployment experts will evaluate your site, deliver the products, and install with minimum client contact. Here’s the amazing reason construction is not needed: the design of EV ARC requires only gravity to hold it in place. No need for permanent bolting or anchoring, which makes setup rapid. The entire procedure can take minutes to an hour at most to be completed.

Straightforward Procurement

Beam’s strategic move to leverage the General Services Administration (GSA) to deploy its infrastructure reflects in-depth knowledge in handling government projects. According to Wheatley, this third procurement is another perfect example of the continued business the company is witnessing with non-federal government agencies using GSA to purchase our systems efficiently. What GSA does is simplify the buying process between vendors and government institutions. It also facilitates better collaboration for repeat business.

Market experts interpret Beam’s strategies as promising steps in strengthening its dominance in providing sustainable infrastructure. By consistently deploying electric car charging solutions through a simplified bidding process, the company isn’t just examining its market base. It supports NJ’s electric vehicle mandate to have at least 43% of new automobiles sold in 2027 be zero emission. When state divisions install charging units, it helps address the challenge of EV infrastructure. And this helps meet the state’s sustainability goal of electrifying transportation to cut carbon emissions.

New Jersey is making strategic decisions to promote the adoption of electrified mobility. Recently, the state, through the treasury department, acquired Beam’s automobile charging units known as EV ARC. This is the third procurement by government agencies in the area and the purchase comes with numerous perks. For instance the use of GSA facilitates a fast buying procedure that’s cost effective. And the deployment is fast, as the equipment is portable and relies on gravity to stay in place. After installation, the systems enhance energy security by generating 100% renewable energy and storing it for 24/7 charging.
