Visits to Sea Isle City have suddenly become less expensive.
After Labor Day, parking and beach fees disappear – an extra incentive for people taking trips to the shore in the off-season.
The city stops charging for parking after Labor Day as a money-saving perk for residents and visitors who are still in town after the bustling summer tourism season gives way to the quieter autumn months. Moreover, beach tags are no longer required after the holiday.
“There are many good reasons to be in Sea Isle City after Labor Day, including our beautiful autumn weather, quieter beaches and being able to easily get a dinner reservation. However, not having to pay for parking or needing beach tags is an added bonus that many people look forward to in the fall,” city spokeswoman Katherine Custer said.
Custer said Sea Isle encourages visitors to come to town during the off-season to shop at the many stores and boutiques while enjoying all that the city has to offer without having to pay for parking.
“There are plenty of ways to stay busy in Sea Isle City after Labor Day – but fortunately paying for parking is not one of them,” she said.
Parking fees are in effect in Sea Isle each year from May 15 to Labor Day. Beach tags are required from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
