MAYS LANDING - Atlantic Cape Community College today announced the upcoming retirement of Dr. Barbara Gaba, whose contract concludes on June 30, 2026. Dr. Gaba, who has led Atlantic Cape for nearly nine years, will retire following a distinguished 40-year career in higher education.
As the first female and first African American president in the college's history, Dr. Gaba’s leadership has transformed Atlantic Cape in lasting ways. Under her direction, the college secured millions of dollars in grant funding to support student success initiatives and infrastructure improvements, expanded academic programs, and deepened community partnerships across Atlantic and Cape May counties.
“We are deeply grateful for Dr. Barbara Gaba’s years of service and the significant strides made under her leadership,” said Daniel Money, chairman of the Atlantic Cape Board of Trustees. “Her vision and passion have shaped Atlantic Cape in countless positive ways, leaving a legacy that will long be remembered.”
The Board of Trustees and the entire college community extend their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Gaba for her exceptional leadership, dedication and service.
The Board will begin the process of selecting Atlantic Cape’s next president in the coming months.
