Singer-songwriter Mary Roth will perform an “Enchanting Appalachia” concert on Thursday, Oct. 9, in Sea Isle City.
The free show will be from 12:30 to 1:30 pm, at the Sea Isle branch of the Cape May County Library, 4800 Central Ave.
The concert promises to be “a musical journey of the rich culture of Appalachia and its people.”
Roth will perform the songs “Shady Groves,” “Cluck Old Hen” and others with her Appalachian Mountain dulcimer and sing with her bouzouki or guitar and bodhran drum as well. She will also include a lecture and discussion-sharing.
Roth’s past performances have ranged from large festivals to intimate cafes. Her original songs have been broadcast from radio stations in several states.
She has taught the non-credit course “How to Play the Appalachian Mountain Dulcimer” at Montgomery County Community College. Check out some of her music here: https//www.reverbnation.com/maryroth
