Sea Isle's Phone and Fax Lines Temporarily Out of Service on Friday

The temporary outage will affect calls to City Hall and other municipal offices.

Telephone and fax lines serving Sea Isle City’s municipal offices will be temporarily out of service on Friday, March 28, while a new municipal phone system is installed.

City Hall, the Department of Public Works, the Welcome Center’s Tourism and Beach Tag Offices, and the Marina Building will be affected by the temporary shutdown.

The Recreation Office and Beach Patrol Headquarters may also experience brief outages of service.

At different times throughout the day on March 28, members of the public trying to contact the municipal offices may discover that some of the phone and fax lines are operational – and others are not.

During the installation process on March 28, Sea Isle City’s 9-1-1 emergency line will remain operational, and all 9-1-1 emergency calls will be handled immediately.

However, the Sea Isle Police Department’s non-emergency phone line (609-263-4311) will be affected by the temporary shutdown.

Sea Isle’s websites (www.seaislecitynj.us and www.visitsicnj.com) and the city’s email system will not be affected and will remain operational throughout the day on March 28.

Once installed, the city’s new phone system will offer numerous improvements – including clearer and more reliable phone service, the ability to transfer calls between municipal offices in different buildings (without requiring the caller to hang up and dial a new number), and long-term cost savings on maintenance.

Please be aware that after the installation of the new phone system is completed, some of the city’s phone extensions will be replaced with new 4-digit extensions.

However, all of the existing 4-digit extensions at City Hall (including the Police Department and the other municipal offices at City Hall) will remain the same. Additionally, each department’s main phone number will remain the same.

For a complete list of municipal phone numbers, go to www.seaislecitynj.us and click the “Departments” link on the home page.

The city thanks the public for their patience during the installation of the new phone system.
