Sea Isle City’s annual Skimmer Festival Antique Auto Show returned to the oceanfront Promenade on Father’s Day, attracting over 40 classic vehicles along with car enthusiasts, who braved the elements on a misty, cloudy day.
Although there was an array of eye-catching vintage cars, Mayor Leonard Desiderio presented trophies to two particular standouts.
“Best of Show” was awarded to Renee Hopkin of South Dennis for her maroon 1933 Pontiac four-door sedan with suicide doors, running boards and plenty of chrome.
The “Mayor’s Choice” award went to Steve Lynch of Havertown, Pennsylvania, who owns a dark green hardtop 1966 Ford Mustang in beautiful condition.
After the awards ceremony, the classic cars paraded down the Promenade and then continued the caravan down the streets of Sea Isle for the annual Skimmer Antique Auto Parade.
Sea Isle’s Division of Tourism will host another annual Antique Auto Show and Parade on Sunday, Sept. 4, during the Fall Family Festival weekend.
