The vice president visited Linwood on Wednesday to pay his respects to his chief of staff whose father passed away last week.
Stephen Reses, a well-known area pharmacist, died July 7, according to his obituary. The funeral was last week.
His son Jacob Reses is chief of staff for Vice President J.D. Vance, who made a detour to Linwood to pay his respects.
“The vice president has a great chief of staff who is from South Jersey, which is great for all of us,” Congressman Jeff Van Drew told BreakingAC.
Many wondered why the area in Linwood near the Reseses’ home was blocked off Wednesday after.
Others witnessed State Police flying overhead, and the traffic back up near the Atlantic City International Airport, where Air Force Two delivered Vance.
“Just got to witness Vice President J.D Vance go by me in his motorcade after arriving at the Atlantic City Airport,” one witness wrote on Facebook. “I’m not someone who gets into politics or etc., but I must say it gave me chills. It was pretty cool even though I was stuck in traffic forever.”
