His work on school safety legislation, particularly “Gabby’s Law for Student Safety,” was inspired by the tragic death of 12-year-old Gabby Mair in Deltona, Florida. The law required local governments to address hazardous walking conditions near schools, ensuring that students could travel to and from school safely.
