Hard Rock offers intimate venue for Rod Stewart's 'Last Time'

  • Jersey Shore

Rod Stewart will kick off the second leg of his "One Last Time" tour Saturday at the Hard Rock.

Sir Roderick turned 80 in January, but the former member of the iconic Faces still has it.

Stewart's charm, unique raspy voice and massive collection of hits is reason enough to catch the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer at the Mark Etess Arena.

Demand for the show is huge since the Hard Rock event is the most intimate of Stewart's jaunt. Tickets on the secondary market start at $329 for the Atlantic City concert.

Ducats for Stewart's Mann Center concert in Philadelphia can be had for less than $100.

Expect an evening of hits spanning more than a half-century from Stewart, who has always been adept at engaging an audience.

Stewart has reached the top of the U.S. pop charts 16 times. "Maggie Mae," "You Wear It Well," "Hot Legs," "Infatuation" and "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy" are just some of the favorites from Stewart's deep canon.

Aside from being a fine songwriter, Stewart is also an excellent interpreter.  He scored acclaim for recording tunes from The Great American Songbook.

It's not easy for Stewart to put a set list together. I'll be curious to see what Stewart performs and omits when he takes the stage at the Hard Rock.

Better than Ezra

There are a number of bands from the '90s that had a modicum of success but float under the radar.

Better than Ezra, which will perform Friday at Borgata's Music Box, is one of those recording artists. The New Orleans based band made some noise with the catchy single "Good," which hit the top of the Modern Rock charts 30 years ago. But the group has kept it together crafting solid albums, such as 2024's "Super Magick."
