After a video circulated this week of CBS Sports'ย Pete Prisco saying he'd choose quarterbacks such as Trevor Lawrence and Baker Mayfield over Jalen Hurts, Prisco called in to 97.5 The Fanatic's Kincade & Salciunasย morning show to defend his stance. Overall, Prisco says, there are between 7 and 14 QBs in the league better than Hurts.

Here's the original video:

And here's Prisco on 97.5 Wednesday morning:

Hosts John Kincade, Andrew Salciunas, and Amy Fadool immediately went for Prisco's neck.

Salciunas: "Trevor Lawrence is a toss-up [in a choice vs. Hurts]?"

Kincade: "What is that based on, Pete?"

Prisco: "[Lawrence] has had four different systems, three different head coaches in the last..."

Kincade: "So has Jalen Hurts."

Hurts has famously adapted to a new play-caller every year dating back to his time in college.

After some Justin Herbert discourse, Prisco tried to pivot to the talent surrounding Hurts on the Eagles.

Kincade was ready: "Pete, you're taking the cheese for me here . . . If you start telling me Jalen Hurts is a product of the great people around him, then I'm gonna ask you, why didn't you pick the Eagles to win anywhere along the season? And then all through the playoffs you were taking lousy teams [to beat the Eagles]." Prisco picked the Packers, Commanders, and Chiefs over the Birds during their Super Bowl run.

The entire clip is worth the watch. And, to be fair, Prisco makes some valid points along the way. But in the aftermath of Jalen Hurts' recent Super Bowl MVP performance, those who doubted the Birds' QB are in for a bit of a tough time.
