Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts speaks during the Philadelphia Eagles Super Bowl celebration in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Friday, Feb. 14, 2025.
The 2024-25 Philadelphia Eagles went 14-3 in the regular season. They beat the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card round of the NFL playoffs. A week later, in the snow, they took down the L.A. Rams. In the conference title game, they dropped 55 points on the Washington Commanders.
On Sunday, February 9, the Birds slaughtered the mighty Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX. The city of Philadelphia--and Eagles fans around the globe--erupted in a celebration that lasted straight through a Valentine's Day parade.
It was a hell of a ride.
So... What happens next?
In the words of Jalen Hurts in his parade speech, "The next pursuit begins."
A Super Bowl championship makes for a very short offseason. Here are the main dates to look forward to through the NFL Draft as the Eagles prepare for another run:
- February 24, 2025 through March 3, 2025: NFL Scouting Combine
Top NFL Draft prospects invited to Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis for the Scouting Combine will have the opportunity to showcase their skills for NFL coaches and execs. Televised coverage kicks off February 27 on the NFL Network.
- March 4, 2025: Deadline for Franchise Tags
If a team wishes to apply a franchise tag designation to a player with an expiring contract, they must do so between February 18 and 4:00 p.m. Philadelphia time on March 4. ESPNΒ provides a nice breakdown of the different types of franchise tags here.
Once the March 4 deadline hits, clubs will be able to fully assess the free agent marketplace.

From noon on March 10 through 4:00 p.m.on March 12 (Philly time), clubs are permitted to negotiate contracts with players and their agents. Any deals won't become official until the March 12 deadline, but fans typically learn of agreements reached in the days prior.

All 2024 contracts officially expire. Clubs can freely sign free agents and make trades.

Owners, coaches, execs, and media will gather in Palm Beach, Florida. Owners vote on playing rule, bylaw, and resolution proposals submitted by clubs. Expect plenty of rumors regarding players who are still on the market.

- April 7, 2025: Offseason Workout Programs Begin (Teams with New Head Coaches)
- April 21, 2025: Offseason Workout Programs Begin (Teams with Returning Head Coaches)
- April 24, 2025 through April 26, 2025: NFL Draft
This year's NFL Draft will be held in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Barring trades, the Eagles will make the final selection in each of the first three rounds (due to their Super Bowl LIX championship π). As of February 15, 2025, the Eagles have seven picks in the seven-round draft, all in the first five rounds:
- Round one, overall pick 32
- Round two, overall pick 64
- Round three, overall pick 96
- Round four (from Detroit)
- Round five (from Houston)
- Round five (from Washington)
- Round five (Eagles' original pick)
The draft order after round three is determined after compensatory draft picks are awarded.

Not only do Super Bowl champs pick last in the draft, but they typically also face the daunting task of retaining players eligible for free agency and in search of huge raises.
The Eagles are no exception. Here are the most important free agents who may leave the nest:
- RG Mekhi Becton
Becton, 25, is the lone free agent among Eagles offensive starters. He signed a one-year, $2.75 million contract with the Birds for the 2024-25 season.
Sometimes you just need someone to believe in you.

- LB Zack Baun
Baun, 28, was largely unheralded when the Eagles signed him to a one-year deal last offseason. He ended up a finalist for Defensive Player of the Year.
When Zack Baun signed with the Eagles in March, he laughed at the $500K Pro Bowl incentive in the contract.
βI didnβt think I could reach it at this point in my career."

- LB Oren Burks
Burks, 29, wasn't a starter for the Eagles this season, but he filled in well for LB Nakobe Dean throughout the playoffs after Dean suffered a torn patellar tendon against the Packers.
- EDGE Brandon Graham
Graham, 36, is likely to retire after winning two Super Bowls with the Birds.

I will always be a part of Philly

- EDGE Β Josh Sweat
Sweat, 27, won a handful of Super Bowl MVP votes after making life miserable for Patrick Mahomes with 2.5 sacks. He played well all year and is likely in line for a very nice payday.
- DT Milton Williams
Much like Sweat, Williams, 25, probably earned himself some extra cash with his Super Bowl performance (2 sacks and a forced fumble). "Just the right situation," said Williams when asked what he's looking for in free agency. "Valuing what I bring to the table. Obviously, a raise. But I want to win. I like this feeling of winning and being on top of the world. So definitely want to try to get in a situation as close to this as possible."

The Eagles have approximately $18 million in salary cap space as their offseason begins, according to overthecap.com. But under the leadership of GM Howie Roseman, never underestimate the club's ability to work some financial magic.
