Jalen Hurts isn't Patrick Mahomes. No one is Patrick Mahomes. But Hurts has now outperformed Mahomes twice on the sport's biggest stage.

The Chiefs won Super Bowl LVII, with Mahomes completing 21 of 27 passes for three touchdowns, while also adding in 44 rushing yards. He took home the Super Bowl MVP in the 38-35 win.

However, Hurts had the better individual performance. Yes, he had a crucial second-quarter fumble that turned into six points for the Chiefs. Outside of that, Hurts played pretty much perfectly. He completed 27 of 38 passes for 304 yards and one touchdown. He also led the Eagles in rushing yards at 70, finding the end zone three additional times on the ground. Certainly, he played well enough to win.

Two years later, Hurts and the Eagles made good on a mulligan, blowing the Chiefs off the field 40-22. It was a dominant performance by Josh Sweat and the defense, but Hurts completed 17 of 22 pass attempts for two touchdowns and an interception. He once again led the Eagles in rushing yards, this time at 72. He scored the first touchdown of the game on a successful tush push:

Mahomes, meanwhile, spent much of the night running for his life. He was sacked six times. He did find Xavier Worthy on a 50-yard touchdown pass late in the fourth quarter, but the game was over by that point. Mahomes finished the game with three touchdown passes, but two interceptions. The first interception was a pick-six by Cooper DeJean in the second quarter. The second pick came later in the second quarter, as Zack Baun picked off Mahomes deep in Kansas City territory. The Eagles quickly turned that into six, with Hurts finding A.J. Brown for a touchdown that gave the Eagles a 23-0 lead:

Wherever Hurts ranks among the top quarterbacks in the league currently, there's no denying how excellent he's played in his two Super Bowl appearances. And he's now got a ring to show for it.
