Atlantic Cape Community College's Academy of Culinary Arts graduate Kyle Timpson has a new job.
The Dennis Township native won Season 23 Hell's Kitchen: Head Chefs Only will begin.
That means he gets $250,000 and the head chef job at the Hell’s Kitchen restaurant at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Conn.
"Who needs moisturizer when you have tears of job," Timpson said as he took in his win over second-place Hannah Flora.
Chef Gordon Ramsey said it was a tough choice as the two chefs stood before their respective doors.
Only one would open, leading the winner into the room where family, friends and other diners cheered as Timpson walked through.
Before they went to the kitchen for their final meal service, Ramsey told the top two that things would not go perfectly, but it was how they handled the bumps that would be the real story.
Timpson overcame burnt octopus and cold scallops to put out a high-scoring service.
Ramsey said he was proud of both chefs, who had completed some of the best meals he had seen.
But Timpson — who said he believed he used the word "sexy" more than it ever had been used in Hell's Kitchen history — had that extra something.
"We have to have standards, guys," he told his team when things went a bit awry. "Everything needs to be perfect."
As they got to their last table, the 29-year-old chef pumped up his team of this year's former contestants.
"I believe in every single one of you," he said.
Timpson was the first to get into the final two last week, with a near-perfect score over five courses: three 10s and two nines.
"Ultimately, I am the one to beat," Timpson said as the start of that show. "I need to be the best."
It turned out, he was.
