Is Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie going to put a dome on the Linc?

  • Eagles

Just a few weeks removed from a wildly entertaining Eagles playoff victory in the snow, Jeffrey Lurie spoke to reporters Monday about the possibility of building a dome over Lincoln Financial Field (or possibly some future Eagles stadium).

"You're torn," said Lurie, speaking at Super Bowl LIX 'Opening Night' (a/k/a media night) in New Orleans.Β

"I love outdoor football. I love it. I love the cold games, I like the hot games, I like the snow games.

"On the other hand, Philadelphia deserves to host a Super Bowl, NCAA Final Four, lots of great events. It's an incredible sports city. Does it deserve that? Yes. So, gotta balance all those things."

Many Eagles fans were quick to suggest a retractable roof as a compromise.

Lincoln Financial Field first opened in August of 2003. The city of Philadelphia owns the stadium, while the Eagles lease it from the city and have full control over stadium operations.
