Sea Isle City’s 21st annual Gerard Desiderio Antique Auto Show featured 64 classic vehicles lined up along the oceanfront Promenade at the Fall Family Festival over the Labor Day weekend.
They ranged from muscle cars and hot rods to vintage trucks and stylish sedans. As is the case each year, two vehicles received awards.
“We had a very nice variety of vehicles, and the weather was picture perfect, so that makes for an ideal auto show,” auto show host Jim Ambro said in a news release. “Everyone seemed very impressed with the cars and trucks that were in Sunday's lineup, and the two vehicles that received awards were exceptional. It was a great show.”
Perry Rogers, of Collegeville, Pa., was the recipient of the Mayor’s Choice Award – thanks to his beautiful 1957 DeSoto Fire Dome Sportsman four-door sedan featuring a shiny yellow paint job, white wall tires and sparkling chrome.
Additionally, Bert Bifulco, of Pittsgrove, N.J., drove home with the Best of Show Award in his eye-catching 1936 Ford ¾-ton pick-up truck, which has running boards and restored wooden sideboards around the truck’s bed.
The pick-up truck was previously owned by Bifulco’s parents, who purchased it from the vehicle’s original owner in the early 1970s.
