The National Weather Service has extended a Coastal Flood Advisory for Sea Isle City, Strathmere and nearby coastal areas through Friday afternoon, Sept. 20.
The flood advisory is in effect from 7 p.m. Wednesday to 3 p.m. Friday.
While flooding will not be continuous, expect minor flooding around the times of high tide through the rest of the week, the Sea Isle City Police Department said in a weather alert.
A full moon earlier this week, strong northeast winds and rain will combine to cause flooding, according to the forecast.
Residents should be prepared to move vehicles to safe places well in advance of high tide. Motorists are advised to use caution on roadways and avoid travel on any street covered by water.
There is also a high risk for rip currents. Anyone entering the water is urged to take special precautions.
