Coastal Flood Advisory in Effect for Monday Night

The National Weather Service warns there will also be a high risk of rip currents at all beaches during the flood advisory.

The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory in effect for Sea Isle City, Strathmere and nearby coastal areas from 6 p.m. to midnight on Monday, Sept. 16.

With a full moon on Tuesday and strong northeast winds throughout the week, evening high tides this week are expected to reach the scale for “minor” coastal flooding.

The Coastal Flood Advisory is likely to be extended through high tides Tuesday and Wednesday. Rain in the forecast for Tuesday night and Wednesday could contribute to street flooding conditions.

Residents should be prepared to move vehicles to safe places well in advance of these high tides.

“If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property,” according to a weather alert from the Sea Isle City Police Department.

For Police and Fire Department emergencies, call 911. For non-emergencies, call 609-263-4311.
